Breastfeeding
Breastfeeding has great benefits for you and the baby
Breast milk is easily digestible and full of unique nutrients tailored to your baby’s needs. Because breastfeeding increases the baby’s immunological defenses, it is preferable to formula. In addition, it is a special and intimate experience. Putting the baby to the breast is something you have to learn. This sometimes requires some perseverance in the first week, but after that it is not only the best feeding but also the easiest feeding.
- Breastfeeding is always adapted to the needs and age of your baby. This applies even to premature babies.
- Breast milk contains certain nutrients and antibodies that cannot be replicated. These protect your baby from diseases. Children who have been breastfed are less often and less seriously ill.
- Breastfeeding reduces the risk of allergies.
- Breastfeeding is always available and always at temperature.
- Babies who were breastfed in the first six months are less likely to develop high blood pressure, obesity and cardiovascular disease in adulthood.
- You get back to your original weight faster.
- Your postpartum recovery will be faster and with less blood loss.
- Your period stays away longer.
- Mothers who breastfed are less likely to develop osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis and breast cancer later in life.
- Breastfeeding promotes the bonding process between mother and child.
Artificial feeding
Not everyone chooses to breastfeed or is able to breastfeed. We are happy to guide you in your choice. We use special formulas for artificial feeding based on the birth weight of your baby. This allows us to calculate exactly how much nutrition your baby needs per day.
